Tickets for DEAR EVAN HANSEN go on sale Sunday, September 9 at 10 a.m.

Broadway In Chicago and Producer Stacey Mindich are pleased to announce that tickets will go on sale to the general public for the first national touring production of the 2017 Best Musical Tony Award-winner Dear Evan Hansen on Sunday, September 9 at 10:00AM (central time).  Fans who “like” the Dear Evan Hansen Facebook page will receive early access to a limited number of tickets from  9:00 – 10:00 AM (central time) on Sunday, September 9, online only, via a special access code.  Dear Evan Hansen will play Broadway In Chicago’s Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph) for a limited four-week engagement February 12 – March 10, 2019.

Beginning today, you have the opportunity to be entered to win a pair of tickets to one of our upcoming productions of your choice that is featured in the summer concert by playing BIC-GO on social media – just like BINGO! Post your photos on Twitter or Instagram of any of the items on the BIC-GO board using #BICconcert and tag Broadway in Chicago. You have up until August 20 to finish your BIC-GO card; the more rows you complete, the more you will be entered to win! Competition Description

The Broadway In Chicago BIC-GO Bingo Competition (“Competition”) will be conducted exclusively online. One (1) winner will be awarded one (1) pair of tickets (date to be at Broadway In Chicago’s discretion) to see an upcoming Broadway In Chicago production (“Prize”). Competition is being conducted by Broadway In Chicago (“Company”) 17 N State St, Suite 810, Chicago, Illinois 60602.

How to Enter

You may enter the Competition by following the instructions on the Bingo card to share photos on Twitter and/or Instagram. The Bingo card with instructions is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

You may only submit photos you have taken yourself.

You may enter as many times as you like until the BIC-GO card is complete for a total of 12 entries. Only entries that collectively comprise a “BIC-GO,” as detailed on the Bingo card, will be considered eligible.

All entries must be received no later than August 20 at 11:59pm Central Time.

Company will select winners by random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Drawing will take place on or about August 22, 2018. Winners will be notified by direct message and/or email.

All decisions made by Company regarding any aspect of this Sweepstakes are final.

 

Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert 2018 Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together a list of commonly asked questions regarding the upcoming FREE Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert in Millennium Park on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 6:15 p.m.

What time should I arrive?

Plan ahead! There is a new security perimeter at Millennium Park. We advise arriving as early as you possibly can to this event as we do expect an extremely large crowd. Lawn seating is opened to the public at 3 p.m. following the set-up of the security perimeter. Seating in the bowl is first come, first serve and fans begin lining up several hours before the scheduled concert start time of 6:15 p.m. Bowl seating is opened at 5:15 p.m., one hour prior to show time.

Millennium Park staff are responsible for crowd control and the organization of lines and entry so please direct any questions on the day of the event to their team members.

What happens if the park fills up?

The venue will close once capacity has been reached. Announcement of capacity closure will come via @Millennium_Park Twitter and with venue signage; there will be no pre-closure capacity based announcements. Concert-goers are recommended to arrive early, as entry cannot be guaranteed. If the venue is nearing capacity, you may be asked to release held space to make room for those waiting to get inside.

What am I allowed to bring into the park with me?

Outside alcohol is NOT permitted. Non-alcoholic beverages and food are permitted after passing through a security checkpoint. Bags and coolers must be smaller than 26L x 15W x 15H. Visitors will have additional food and beverage options, including alcohol, at various price points available for purchase inside the venue.

How long is the concert?

The concert will run from approximately 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm. Start and end times are subject to change due to the nature of theatrical performance and depending on weather conditions the day of the show.

What will happen in case of inclement weather?

We’re putting on the concert rain or shine, unless there are severe weather warnings and/or the imminent threat of lightning in the area. Bring your blankets and chairs, but bring an umbrella or poncho with you as well, just in case. There will be no rescheduling in the event the concert is canceled due to adverse weather conditions. Please make sure to following Millennium Park on Twitter and Facebook for any updates on the day of the concert.

Can I meet the performers before/after the concert?

There is no set meet-and-greet opportunity for this performance.

What accommodations are being made for patrons with accessibility needs?

Sign language interpreters will be present at the event for the duration of the performance.

Wheelchair seating spaces are available throughout the Seating Bowl and are first come, first serve once opened to the public.

Courtesy wheelchairs are available before the concert at the Millennium Park Welcome Center (201 E. Randolph Street) and should be returned to any usher or security guard at the end of the concert. Please note: Millennium Park staff is not available to push wheelchairs.

Accessible parking is available in Millennium Garages (5 S. Columbus Drive)

When do tickets go on sale for the shows appearing at the concert?

Bookings for groups of 10 or more (15 in the case of Dear Evan Hansen) are open for all shows performing at the concert and can be made by calling 312-977-1710 or emailing [email protected]

Tickets for TOOTSIE ROALD DAHL’S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and HELLO, DOLLY! starring Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Betty Buckley are now on sale.

For the other shows performing, tickets typically go on sale 8-10 weeks before performances begin in Chicago; however, concert attendees will be given a special presale code to begin booking tickets before anyone else for select shows! Can’t make the concert? Join our mailing list!

TOOTSIE’s Santino Fontana to appear as special guest at Broadway In Chicago’s FREE Summer Concert

Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, star of the upcoming Pre-Broadway World Premiere engagement of the new comedy musical TOOTSIE, will be a special guest joining Janet Davies, ABC 7 Chicago’s entertainment reporter and host of the entertainment and lifestyle program 190 NORTH on ABC 7, in hosting the FREE Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 6:15 p.m. at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph St).  The annual Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert at Millennium Park is presented with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. This year, there will be preview performances from A BRONX TALE THE MUSICAL; ANASTASIA; THE BOOK OF MORMON; CATS; COME FROM AWAY; DEAR EVAN HANSEN; FALSETTOS; FIDDLER ON THE ROOF; HEARTBREAK HOTEL; HELLO, DOLLY!; MISS SAIGON; and ROALD DAHL’S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, whose previous credits include voicing the villainous ‘Prince Hans’ in Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated feature, Frozen, as well as Universal Studio’s Sisters, starring opposite Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will star as Michael Dorsey in the world premiere Chicago production of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE, which will play Broadway In Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. As the summer season kicks off in Millennium Park, some important changes are coming to improve security and the visitor experience at the park. The City of Chicago will implement a security perimeter and bag check for all concerts and events that take place in the park. Outside alcohol will be prohibited at the seven Jay Pritzker Pavilion events with the highest attendance, including the Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert. Additional food and beverage options will be available for purchase at various price points inside the venue. Subject to bag search at the security perimeter, guests will continue to be allowed to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages to all events at Millennium Park.
