ANNOUNCING #HAM4HAM DIGITAL LOTTERY IN CHICAGO OPENING FOR ENTRIES SEPTEMBER 1, 2023

A MINIMUM OF 36 TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERY PERFORMANCE

$10 EACH

A Digital Lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show’s first performance, September 13, 2023, in Chicago at the James M. Nederlander Theatre. A minimum of thirty-six (36) tickets for every performance will be available for purchase at $10 each. Each winner is allowed to purchase up to two (2) tickets. The Digital Lottery will first open at 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, and will close at noon on Thursday, September 7, for tickets to performances September 13 through September 17. Subsequent Digital Lotteries will begin on each Friday and close the following Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances.

EACH WEEK’S DIGITAL LOTTERY OPENS FRIDAY AT 10AM AND CLOSES THURSDAY AT NOON FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK’S SHOWS.

HOW TO ENTER

Use the official app for HAMILTON, now available for all iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store https://hamiltonmusical.com/us-tour/lottery/

The Digital Lottery will open at 10:00 AM every Friday and will close for entry at 12:00 PM the next Thursday prior to the following week’s performances.

Winner and non-winner notifications will be sent between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email and mobile push notification. Winners will have two (2) hours to claim and pay for their ticket(s) (“$10 Ticket(s)”).

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter nor does a purchase increase the chance of winning.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the Digital Lottery.

Each winning entrant may purchase up to two (2) $10 Tickets.

Only one (1) entry per person. Repeat entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded.

$10  Tickets must be picked up at will call beginning two (2) hours prior to the performance with a valid photo ID.

$10 Tickets are void if resold.

All times listed are in the local time zone.

ADDITIONAL RULES

Patrons must be 18 years or older who, when entering the Digital Lottery from outside Illinois, are making the entry from a state that permits the running of a Digital Lottery, and must have a valid, non-expired photo ID that matches the name used to enter. $10 Tickets are non-transferable. $10 Ticket limits and prices displayed are at the sole discretion of the show and are subject to change without notice.

$10 Ticket prices are not valid on prior purchases. $10 Ticket offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. All $10 Ticket sales final – no refunds or exchanges will be permitted.

The Digital Lottery may be revoked or modified at any time without notice.

The Digital Lottery is conducted in accordance with the Illinois Prizes and Gifts Act, 815 Ill. Comp. Stat. 525/1 et seq., and is void where otherwise prohibited by law, or where the Digital Lottery’s sponsor would be required to register or be restricted in any other way, or where the Digital Lottery’s sponsor may not have yet complied with registration or other requirements.  Participation in the Digital Lottery constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules and the full Digital Lottery terms and conditions available here.

Tickets for HAMILTON are currently on sale. Patrons are advised to check the official HAMILTON channels and www.BroadwayInChicago.com for late release seats which may become available at short notice.

 

HAMILTON tickets on sale through December 30, 2023

NEW BLOCK OF TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY, AUGUST 28

Broadway In Chicago is pleased to announce that a new block of tickets for HAMILTON will be available on August 28 for performances between December 5 and December 30, 2023. Ticket prices will range from $42.50 to $152.50 with premium priced seating from $182.50.

HAMILTON returns to Chicago for the first time following a record-breaking 3+ year run. This multi-week engagement begins on September 13, 2023 at the James M. Nederlander Theatre (24 W. Randolph). For the performance schedule visit the show page on BroadwayInChicago.com.

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of America’s founding father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

There are currently six Hamilton companies worldwide, including Broadway, three North American tours, London and Sydney. Hamilton opened in Hamburg, Germany in October 2022 where it was translated and performed in German.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography. New rules and entry methods for #Ham4Ham lottery

Theatergoers in Chicago have a new way to enter the musical HAMILTON’s popular lottery with the release of an innovative HAMILTON app.

Beginning August 27, patrons can enter the lottery through HAMILTON’s newly-minted app (www.HamiltonBroadway.com/app) or via the long-standing method, online at www.HamiltonBroadway.com/Lottery). The #Ham4Ham lottery allows fans to enter to win two tickets to HAMILTON for only $10 each. This is now made even easier to enter with the addition of the HAMILTON app. To download the HAMILTON app, visit www.HamiltonBroadway.com/app.

The new Chicago Lottery system opens at 11:00 a.m. CT 2 days prior to the performance and closes at 9:00 a.m. CT the day prior to the performance for that lottery. The first new lottery registration begins online or through the new HAMILTON App on Sunday, August 27 at 6 p.m. CT for the August 29 performance. Notifications will be sent at approximately 11 a.m. CT the day prior to the performance, and the purchase window for Lottery Tickets will be from 11:01 – 4:00 p.m. CT on the day prior to the performance.

In addition to the lottery, the official HAMILTON app provides access to stickers, camera filters, a merchandise store, music, news and exclusive content with Lin-Manuel Miranda and the various HAMILTON companies around the country.

Future features on the app will include exclusive ticket access, augmented reality, an enhanced #EduHam experience, and interactive karaoke tracks.

 

Celebrating Bastille Day with AN AMERICAN IN PARIS

What do Hamilton: An American Musical, An American in Paris, and Bastille Day all have in common? The French Revolution!

The United States and France have been linked since the birth of our nation over 240 years ago when Lafayette (America’s favorite fighting Frenchman!) & the French military helped us win our independence from the English. A few years later when the French called on us to help with their revolution we were very conflicted, and if you’ve memorized “Cabinet Battle #2” from Hamilton like we have you’ll remember that Washington had Hamilton draft a statement of neutrality. But what made us question whether the people were leading or rioting during the French Revolution?

You might think about checking Les Miserables for the answers, but contrary to popular belief when you heard those people sing it was about the July Revolution of 1830 not the French Revolution. Cut to a few decades earlier: The Seven Years War & American Revolution had placed the country in debt, harvests had been poor for years prior to 1789, and the French people didn’t appreciate the privilege gap between the classes. (Sound familiar?) So the French took up arms and did something about it. The first major conflict in the decade-long revolution was the storming of the Bastille, a medieval fortress being used as a prison, on July 14 1789. This day is now celebrated in France every year as quatorze juillet (14th of July) or simply the fête nationale (National Celebration). Here in the US we celebrate it as Bastille Day!

Eventually we were able to return the support the French provided to our revolution during World War II, when we helped them end the German occupation in France. Which brings us to An American in Paris: the story of a young American soldier who decides to stay in Paris as an artist after World War II, told to the tune of Ira & George Gershwin.
