As we reflect on the past few days, and in fact, years and centuries of injustice towards people of color, we are heartbroken and outraged. We are reminded that theaters are a sacred place where stories are told that help us hear and understand all points of view. A place where community, not distance, come first.
As sung in RAGTIME THE MUSICAL:
Go out and tell our story.
Let it echo far and wide.
Make them hear you.
Make them hear you.
How justice was our battle and how justice was denied.
Make them hear you.
Make them hear you.
And say to those who blame us
For the way we chose to fight
That sometimes there are battles
That are more than black or white.
We look forward to the day when everyone’s stories will be heard and have hope that as we raise our voices together in non-violent protest, equality and justice will come. We stand by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s words “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
